We
recently moved to Calgary from Brisbane in Australia to follow our dreams and
work as geologists outside of our homeland. The prospect of moving to a new continent
in a different hemisphere, with 3 children and 2 dogs and of buying a house in
a city we had never been to before was rather daunting. To add to the challenge,
Brisbane is a humid tropical city where it rarely reaches below 15 degrees in
winter. Our Brisbane lifestyle centred around keeping cool and spending lots of
time outdoors. Calgary weather and the associated lifestyle is so totally different
that we had no knowledge of what kind of housing would most suit our needs. Fortunately
someone recommended Mike de Jonge to us, in fact, they said that he was the most
fantastic Realtor® they had ever dealt with. We emailed Mike from Australia
a few months before our arrival and he began working on the job of finding us

and smooth as possible. He is organised, knowledgeable and competent with the
necessary paperwork and his manner is professional but at the same time friendly,
supportive and honest. Mike spent time getting to know us so that he was fully
able to help us find a home that suited our needs taste and budget. Mike was also
of invaluable assistance to us in many other areas, he has a wide knowledge of
the Calgary community and he offered us support and information beyond the home
buying realm. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mike as an
exceptional Realtor® who is obviously passionate about his work and conducts
