It only takes once to learn that going to someone that hasn't been recommended to you usually comes with a consequence. Having learned that lesson, my husband and I didn't want to put our 'first home' purchase to that test. As we are both very analytical people (he's an engineer and I'm an accountant), we wanted to do most of our own homework (scoping out areas and open houses) on our own, at our own pace and without the pressure. It was the better part of a year between when we first met Mike and when we actually went out with him for the first time to look at houses together. During that year, my husband and I were able to acutely define the area we wanted to live in, as well as what our needs and wants were for our first home. As such, there were only about 10 homes that met our criteria for us to look at that day and Mike was prompt to pointing out the pros and cons of each home during our visit. Each of those homes missed the mark for one reason or other, but Mike had already scoped out one last home within our search criteria for us to look at before our day came to an end. And of course, it was 'the 10/10 house' and we were writing up the offer with Mike the very next morning. He walked us through each step of the home-buying process so that we could make our conditions for a quick possession. We are very happy and proud of our purchase and have Mike to thank for helping to make it happen. We would recommend Mike to anyone who asks - 'who was your realtor?'![]()
